The cleaning of the Botanical Garden in Plovdiv begins

The cleaning of the Botanical Garden in Plovdiv has begun. The initiative is led by a private company with the support of the mayor of the “Trakia” district and is inspired by the declared intention of the Plovdiv Municipality and the Agricultural University to transform the neglected space into yet another attractive spot.

The idea is for the garden to be cleaned with the voluntary efforts of Plovdiv residents over several consecutive weekends.

The Trakia district mayor’s office, where the garden is located, has already developed a project for a fence, which will cost about 200,000 leva.

The Agricultural University has prepared a project for the future vision of the Botanical Garden. Plans include planting new and restoring old plants, creating a garden center and greenhouses, a small pond, and a climbing wall.

Restoring the garden will require around half a million leva. The university will apply for various projects to raise the funds and hopes to secure financing from the government.
