Spring flowers and birdhouses in the park, thanks to the efforts of dozens of nature lovers and volunteers
Dozens of nature lovers and volunteers participated in the first organized cleanup of the Botanical Garden at the Agricultural University last weekend. The results are more than impressive. Spring flowers are already blooming in the areas cleaned during previous volunteer efforts. The Botanical Garden is being revitalized thanks to the efforts of the community.
The cleanup effort continues. The next event will be on March 25 (Sunday) at 11 a.m., when enthusiasts invite all Plovdiv residents to join. In addition to continuing the cleanup of the area from trash and industrial waste, birdhouses and feeders will be installed. “If you have any, please bring them with you. If not, we can make new ones on-site. We provide equipment and tools—gloves, trash bags, shovels, pruning shears, etc.—but any additional help is welcome,” the organizers announced.
In addition to thanking all their supporters, they also express gratitude to the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, whose administration has announced that they will begin conducting student internships in the garden to aid in its transformation into a paradise. The nature enthusiasts also extend their thanks to Kostadin Dimitrov, the mayor of the Trakia district, who continues to actively assist with the removal of collected trash and the preparation and construction of the planned fence.
