The green oasis will cost nearly 350,000 leva.
The area where circus caravans used to set up their tents in the Plovdiv district of Trakia is being transformed into a park. This was announced today by Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov, who presented the district’s construction program for the year.
The decision with the new detailed development plan is now in effect, and the project for landscaping the 10-decare site is ready. The construction of the oasis is budgeted at nearly 350,000 leva, as the landscaping will be compensatory—funded by an investor in the area. Currently, the administration is preparing a public tender for selecting a contractor. The project includes the construction of an irrigation system, paths, a playground, pergolas, retaining walls with gabions, benches, and an outdoor stage, as explained today by Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov. Paths will be created leading to the commercial areas of nearby hypermarkets to avoid crossing the grass. Once a contractor is selected and if there are no appeals, a fantastic park will be completed in the Trakia area by the end of the year, concluded Dimitrov.
In Lauta, a new stage with a canopy will be built for activities such as dance and gymnastics. The stage will be approximately 100 square meters in size. Cross paths leading to the main park avenue will be asphalted, and the electrical network will also be reinforced.
Following several volunteer cleanup events at the Botanical Garden, it is now set to be fenced, announced the district mayor. Dimitrov’s team has prepared a project that will be submitted to the Agricultural University. After the fencing is completed, efforts will again focus on cleaning the garden, commented Kostadin Dimitrov.
He also mentioned that another task for the administration is to asphalt the road alongside the Botanical Garden, connecting “Skobeleva Mother” with the first blocks in the residential area.
