The competition is open to everyone, with no age restrictions. It is important that the logo is original, does not resemble logos of other brands, and reflects the spirit of a botanical garden.
For the second year, a group of volunteers and students from the Agricultural University has been gradually but successfully revitalizing the Botanical Garden in Plovdiv, the only one in the city located just before the bridge to the Trakia district. This work is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv and the Trakia district, which is increasingly becoming a hub for urban parks. Little by little, the neglected area is transforming into a green oasis that will soon be accessible to city residents for relaxation, walks, and sports. The joint efforts of everyone involved in the project have resulted in over 1500 square meters of land cleared of weeds and trash, a garden planted with crocuses, 30 birdhouses built, illegal structures demolished, and a public tender submitted for constructing a fence that will separate the garden from the streets and define its boundaries.
Before everything is ready and the park opens its doors, the university and the volunteer campaign are organizing a rather enjoyable competition – for the name and logo of the Botanical Garden in Plovdiv. The competition is open to everyone, regardless of age. The logo must be original, not resemble logos of other brands, and capture the essence of a botanical garden. It should reflect the mood of the flora and show its character, rather than that of the creator. Preference will be given to fonts that are either original or not protected by copyright. The name should not be patented and can be incorporated into the logo or presented separately. Each participant can submit up to three designs, either individually or in a group. Both Bulgarian and international authors are welcome to participate. The final design must be submitted in both color and monochrome versions in .jpg format, sized 1500×1500. It should include both Cyrillic and Latin script, a one-page explanation of the idea, a brief resume of the creator, and a brand book in PDF format, along with the name, contact phone number, and email. The competition has already begun and will run until December 10, 2018. The ten best designs will be selected through public voting, and a panel of judges will choose the winner, who will receive 1000 BGN. Entries can be sent to garden@speedflow.bg.
