“Plant a Flower – Save the Botanical Garden” is the motto of the upcoming weekend event.

The two-day group planting of bulb flowers at the Botanical Garden will take place on September 15 and 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (for just 3-4 hours). The meeting point is at Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd. and Udrow Wilson St.

The event is suitable for both children and adults. All necessary materials will be provided.

“Our efforts are focused on preparing for the subsequent planting of new trees and shrubs, as well as building a new fence by the Agricultural University of Plovdiv. We hope that this month the university will start the public tender for constructing the fence around the Botanical Garden, which should be completed by the end of 2018. This will protect the area from pollution and vandalism and allow the full restoration project to begin,” shares Veneta Krumova from the Initiative Committee for the Restoration of the Botanical Garden.

“Every European Capital of Culture should have a botanical garden. Let Plovdiv have its own. Join us, and we look forward to seeing you this weekend!” she calls on behalf of the organizers.
