The largest “green” project in the recent history of Plovdiv has been given the green light, reported a Plovdiv24.bg journalist.
At today’s session, the Plovdiv City Council approved a modification to the detailed urban plan for the “Odih i Kulтура” district and tasked the “Zapaden” district administration with implementing the project. “We are waiting for the 14-day period to pass and for the City Council’s decision to take effect, after which we will prepare to announce a major public tender for engineering services,” said the district mayor, Dimitar Kolev, in an interview with Plovdiv24.bg.
The new park will cover an area of 655 decares, with a total budget of 4,500,000 leva.
The area is located between the Maritsa River and the Parvenetska River. It will feature the planting of 5,000 new shrubs and 14,000 new trees—all native species. The park will include bike paths, eco-trails, and an eco-school with bungalows for children.
