Every year, enthusiasts and nature lovers gather to clean up a location in Plovdiv and transform it into a cleaner, greener place.
For the sixth consecutive time, we did a wonderful job at the Botanical Garden. We managed to build another 20 birdhouses with the help of sixth graders from Simon Bolivar School, who happened to pass by the garden and eagerly joined us. In addition to helping us assemble the birdhouses, they actively assisted other volunteers with trash collection. We want to give a big “Bravo” to these young people who chose responsibility over play. We were also pleasantly surprised when one of the volunteers played the bagpipes, which accompanied the end of the clean-up—a true reward for all the hard work.
However, the surprises don’t end there. Today we learned that the Botanical Garden received the most votes in the PlovdivTown survey, and this Sunday, April 22nd (Earth Day), it will host the major annual initiative “Think Green.” The event is organized by the Bulgarian Association of Dental Medicine Students (BASDM) with the support of the I Love Plovdiv Association and PlovdivTown. Every year, enthusiasts and nature lovers come together to clean a location in Plovdiv and make it cleaner, greener, and more welcoming for the city’s residents and visitors.
We are thrilled and grateful that this year “Think Green” will take place at the Botanical Garden. This additional support will help us clean an even larger part of it and speed up the process of building its fence. Let’s come together to give Plovdiv a remarkable natural park. Save the date, April 22.
